It converted a storage area into its VR centre. The article attributes an estimated $18.5 million in avoided training and maintenance costs to the programme over the preceding 18 months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">It does not provide the calculation method or implementation cost. The 3 May 2026 date in the photograph caption is the date the picture was taken, not a confirmed opening date.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"translation-block\">Cost avoidance leaves questions about the investment<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">When assessing your own project, distinguish an expense you no longer need to incur from savings after paying for the replacement. If a simulation replaces a more expensive exercise, the comparison still needs to include hardware purchase or rental, the application, scenario preparation and instructor time. If VR adds a stage to training, establish what that stage improves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">These are questions for a company&#x27;s own assessment, not a reconstruction of the unit&#x27;s budget. The announcement alone does not justify allocating parts of the headline figure to fuel, replacement parts or downtime, or promising a similar result elsewhere.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"translation-block\">Define a useful pilot<\/h2>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Choose one task you can assess before and after training, rather than starting with a target saving. Identifying parts of a machine could be a working example. Agree consistent assessment conditions with the instructor and keep the result of each attempt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Record four things in the pilot brief:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Baseline:<\/strong> how the same group would learn without VR and what resources that approach requires.<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Input:<\/strong> preparation, delivery and participant support time, alongside hardware and licence costs.<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Outcome:<\/strong> what each participant did correctly, how much help they needed and which criterion was used.<\/li>\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>A check outside the headset:<\/strong> whether the skill can be used in the task the training is intended to prepare them for.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The final check must suit the procedure and its safety requirements. It does not determine a company&#x27;s headset choice.
