Galaxy XR in Android Enterprise: what Google announced

On 23 September 2026, Google outlined how Android XR devices can join enterprise mobile fleets under shared management. For organisations buying training headsets, this is a reason to involve IT earlier and establish what their existing management console can support.

The September announcement points to EMM consoles powered by the Android Management API. It names Samsung Galaxy XR and the wired XREAL Aura glasses, which the announcement lists for the fourth quarter.

What this changes for buyers

For an organisation that already manages company phones, this is a reason to involve its existing IT provider. Rather than assuming each type of equipment needs a separate console, the team can assess whether its current system can also support the planned headsets.

A shared console does not give every device the same capabilities. The Android Enterprise documentation for XR describes management based on Fully Managed Device mode. It also distinguishes full Android XR devices from lightweight AI glasses that work with a phone. These categories should not be treated as a single fleet with identical functions.

For buyers, our practical conclusion is to tie the equipment proposal to a specific operating system version, management console and method of installing applications. A platform name on the box is not a description of the configuration an organisation will receive.

A pilot that follows the participant's day

Consider a company planning to run training across production shifts. Before ordering the full fleet, it could configure one headset and follow a new participant's journey: collect the device, start the exercise, finish the session and hand the equipment to the next person.

During that trial, the administrator records three outcomes: whether the application reaches the correct device, whether the participant can access only the functions they need, and what remains after the session ends. The trainer measures equipment preparation time. The result is a description of a working process, rather than a list of advertised features.

This is a suggested pilot acceptance exercise. It does not mean ZenithXR has already tested this Galaxy XR configuration with every EMM console.

September builds on an earlier rollout

Enterprise management is not entirely new to Android XR. Google announced support for Android Enterprise on the platform on 7 April 2026. The September update shows the direction of further development, rather than the feature’s first launch.

The announcement does not establish whether a particular training application runs on a chosen headset, what its licence includes, or when a specific hardware variant will be available in Poland. Listing XREAL Aura for the fourth quarter is also not confirmation of an individual order's delivery date.

Where to start in your organisation

Bring three things to the first discussion: the management console you use, the intended training application and the way participants will share devices. These provide a basis for defining the pilot and assigning responsibilities to the hardware supplier, software provider and IT team.
