HTC VIVE Mars FIZTrack

HTC VIVE Mars FIZTrack for virtual production

HTC VIVE Mars FIZTrack is a lens encoder for virtual production. It sends digital Focus, Iris or Zoom data to production software. If you shoot using virtual sets, it lets you include the lens setting in your digital workflow.

Lens data for virtual production

FIZTrack converts the lens setting into digital Focus, Iris or Zoom data, which is sent to virtual production software. Use information about focus, iris or zoom as part of preparing your shot. The encoder is compatible with VIVE Mars CamTrack, and setup requires no software installation. The USB Type-C interface provides a wired connection for the device. This offers a practical way to integrate lens data into a setup based on this system.

Quick mounting beside the lens

Mount the encoder using a quick-release clamp for a Φ15 mm rod. Mount it beside the lens on a rig using this rod diameter, and release the clamp when repositioning it. The gear size is M0.8, which determines how its teeth engage with the matching lens ring. These two specifications help you match the device to your rig: the diameter relates to the mounting point, and the gear module to the connection with the lens. Check both when preparing the mount.

Check the encoder status

Built-in 0.52″ OLED display allows you to read information directly on the encoder. It displays mode, encoder value and input voltage, so the encoder gives you access to the current reading along with its operating mode and power input. Read these details at the FIZTrack mounting point when preparing a shot. This is useful when working beside the camera and checking the encoder itself as well as the lens ring.

Keep the rig weight down

FIZTrack weighs 117 g ± 5 g and measures 108.2 × 50.1 × 32.1 mm. It adds little weight to the camera rig, while the elongated housing needs a defined amount of space beside the lens. If several items of equipment sit close together, position the encoder to suit the available room. These dimensions help you plan the layout before mounting, especially when the space beside the camera is already partly occupied.
