VIVE Ultimate Tracker 3+1 Kit
For users and teams that want to track the body or objects without installing Lighthouse base stations. The three-tracker kit supports a basic full-body tracking arrangement in compatible applications.
Every tracker uses technology 6DoF inside-out tracking and two wide-angle cameras, so the system requires no external base stations. The cameras recognise the space around you and synchronise physical movement with movement in the virtual environment, making station setup considerably easier.
You need trackers to work. VIVE Wireless Dongle, which communicates with them over its own 2.4 GHz radio connection and supports 1 to 5 trackers simultaneously. The tracker also supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi, and a paired VR headset should connect to the same network for the best performance. You remain free to move without restrictive cables.
The kit works with VIVE Focus Vision, VIVE Focus 3 and VIVE XR Elite, and it also supports SteamVR-compatible PC VR sets through VIVE Hub. Before buying, check that your VR headset and apps support this tracking method so you can use the trackers' full capabilities.
Tracker works to 7 hours on one charge, although actual runtime depends on how you use it. It charges via USB-C or Pogo pins. Charging takes around 2.2 hours with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 or around 3.2 hours with a 5V/1A supply, so you can get back to gaming without a long wait.
Single tracker weighs 94 g, so it does not place excessive load on the body during movement. A standard 1/4"-20 UNC mount supports various holders and mounting accessories, allowing convenient attachment to the waist, foot or a selected object.
The built-in LED shows the tracker's status: low battery, charging, pairing mode, headset connection, data synchronisation or software updates. This lets you quickly check whether each tracker is ready, making the kit easier to manage when using several devices at once.
VIVE Ultimate Tracker requires a VIVE Wireless Dongle. The trackers work with VIVE Focus Vision, Focus 3, XR Elite and third-party SteamVR-compatible headsets. For third-party headsets, the dongle connects to a computer and pairing takes place through SteamVR in VIVE Hub. One dongle supports between one and five trackers. Camera-based tracking is not recommended in very low light or direct sunlight.
VIVE Tracker 3.0 will be a more natural fit where SteamVR base stations are already in use. Ultimate Tracker simplifies the infrastructure, but still requires a compatible app, calibration, suitable lighting and a dongle.
