Tundra Tracker
Professional Motion Tracking for SteamVR
Tundra Tracker is an external motion tracker using Valve SteamVR Tracking for full-body tracking in VR simulations, training and motion capture. It has 18 optical sensors on its housing, which must remain visible to the base stations. It charges via USB-C; average battery life is around 9 hours, depending on use.
Precision with 18 sensors
Tundra Tracker measures position using 18 SteamVR Tracking optical sensors on the housing, which must remain unobstructed while tracking. The tracker also uses a MEMS IMU supported by two MEMS clocks to limit drift between base station pulses. Valve SteamVR Tracking works with Base Station 1.0 and 2.0, supporting older HTC Vive setups and newer Valve Index systems.

Wireless Radio Connection
The tracker sends data to the computer using 2.4 GHz radio via a Tundra Super Wireless receiver (SW3, SW5 or SW7), avoiding extra cables while moving. The tracker also works with VIVE Tracker (2018) and VIVE Tracker 3.0 receivers. Alternatively, it can send tracking data to a computer over USB without a separate receiver. Match the receiver and tracker count to your setup.

Mounting for Your Setup
The tracker base is replaceable, with a 1/4-20 thread and an additional stabilizing hole, allowing it to be attached securely to a tripod, belt or item of sportswear. Alternatively, a loop for belts less than one inch wide can be fitted using two PH000 screws. This design lets you adapt the mounting method quickly for a particular use, from full-body simulation to tracking individual controllers or props.

Additional Input Connections
You can purchase an optional I/O Expansion Board mounted under the tracker base, which exposes connections for touchpad, trigger, grip and menu inputs and a haptic output. The board does not include ready-made buttons or an actuator: it connects your own components in a controller or accessory project. It is sold separately.
Battery for Longer Sessions
The device has an average battery life of around 9 hours. Actual battery life depends on use and does not guarantee an uninterrupted session. Charging is via USB-C.
Mounting Without Blocking the Sensors
When mounting on the body or a prop, keep the optical sensors unobstructed. Covering them can disrupt tracking. We will confirm the exact dimensions and weight of the offered version in the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
The tracker uses SteamVR Tracking technology from Valve and works with both Base Station 1.0 and 2.0, providing full compatibility with older HTC Vive sets and newer Valve Index systems.
Wireless use requires a compatible receiver, such as Tundra Super Wireless SW3/SW5/SW7 or a VIVE Tracker (2018/3.0) receiver. With a wired USB connection to the computer, the tracker works without a separate receiver.
